My 1 gph improvement is against the Lycoming manual numbers. With mags, I found these numbers to be fairly accurate. With the E-Mag I can beat 'em by about 1 gph.

Bill, can you give a little more detail on exactly how you are saving the gallon per hour?
Are you saying you try to peg a certain speed and magically fuel flow is less with the emag? or what are you holding constant.
My thought was that if you are running LOP, the spark, any spark, starts the wave front and you run out of fuel/air mixture to burn before the exhaust valve opens anyway. Am I wrong?
