Reports from earlier Lancair builders suggested that the
panel-mounted air vents provided insufficient air.
Rob,
I’ll bet you already know this, but you may want look at
the NACA duct detail on the LML Homepage. I took extra pains to get my edges
sharp and entrance curvature correct. With the canopy closed and
sealed on the ground I get a fair volume of air through both vents. I don’t
like the vibration of the canopy cracked open when taxiing. In flight, it
will blow your sunglasses off.
