Not only does it have internal DG but also = an internal altimeter as well (mine is an older model DFC-250AS) which = means that not only will it fly a heading and altitude if my glass fails = but it will continue to roll steer a GPS course too. In the past my = Avidyne PFD has gone all "red X" in flight but the TruTrak continued on = providing stable references and flying the airplane so it is a = remarkably capable device. I have a Honeywell KFC-325 series autopilot = in the TBM and it cannot do what the TruTrak can. While both can = capture altitude capture only the TruTrak will prevent a stall in that = mode. If speed drops below a set value it will hold minimum speed = instead of altitude. I really like this device.
