Today was a momentous day for Donald Beam, owner of Lancair IVP Propjet N5ND.  After a full power runup this morning, a ramp check by the local FAA guy, and a few last minute adjustments, it enjoyed its first high-speed taxi tests to make sure everything was ok, and then was launched skyward for its first flight at the capable hands of Mr. Jack Webb.  I understand the aircraft flew straight and true, performed well, and is officially on its way to unrestricted airworthiness.

The aircraft has a Diemech M601D engine, an Avia 84" prop and the complete Turbine Solution Group LIV-P conversion package.  I managed to shoot some hi-def video of the taxi test, the first takeoff and the first landing.  I'll try to get some of the footage up on the LML website for all to enjoy.

Congratulations to Mr. Beam, Jack Webb, and all the folks who have been involved in the project along the way.  We officially have another bird in the flock.
