My two bits on the cooling...
We were roasting in our 360 here in Virginia until we disconnnected the
panel vents and replaced them with "big black ball-type vents" from Spruce.
We mounted these directly to the NASA scoop - they will blow your kilt
over your head! This makes it very nice when its hot and we can reach them
to turn them off when it starrts raining!
Flap problem:
We didn't build our plane so I don't know how this happens but... Our
passenger side flap skin peeled back nearest the wing tip. The distance
between the flap and the wing was so close that the wind blew the skin up
and it caught on the wing surface (I quess so because we didn't see this
happen) and when we lowered the flap it caused a tear in the skin of the
flap about 8 inches to the inside from the wingtip end... I popped it back
into place and it is fine as long as we don't lower the flap all the way I
quess.... We can glue it back together but that won't solve the long term
problem obviously. We had heard a pop once in awhile when we raised the
flaps after landing - it was the skin popping back into place. we only
noticed it when the skin ripped and left the flap skin sticking out on top
of the wing forward of the flap after we lowered the flap... On the other
wing there is over a quarter inch of space between the flap and the wing
but on the passsenger side there is zero clearance near the wing tip.
Anyway to change that?
