I am installing a real trim wheel (second item from the top on this page):

in conjunction with a controller that makes the Ray Allen devices respond as
true servos:

I haven't flown with the system yet, but it's wired up and functions as
advertised -- roll the wheel and the servo moves. I like the idea of a trim
wheel. It's something we're all familiar with, and its operation is
intuitive. A bonus is there is no need for position indicator because it's
built into the wheel.

I'm also using the TSCMR with a potentiometer to control the rudder trim.
Again, a knob with a pointer doubles as the indicator.

Elevator trim will be the rocker switch included with the servo. No
indicator necessary as the tab is visible from the pilot seat.
