Speaking for myself, it seems appropriate that all things lancair appear at the lml. The power of the lml is that it represents the bulk of of the lancair community. Therefore, if you post a question, you are most likely to reach someone that has the knowledge. To the extent that there are multiple lists, that would work less well. The cool thing about the list is that anyone can contribute and there is no editorial control except to put out the occasional flame. If the Evolution e-newsletter were to become the clearing house for all things evolution then that would, to say the least, be a break with the editorial policy of the list, and therefore its usefulness.
