I wonder if anyone has done anything with vortex generators similar to
those used on the heavier iron to reattach the flow to the control
surfaces? They look to be awfully popular at about 50-60% MAC in front of
the ailerons on things like the Lear, other jets, and many turboprops. Makes me wonder if they'd impart any advantage to our much tinier and
[relatively] slower airplanes... Needless to say, I'm not an aero engr,
just a curious observer wondering why things work in some places and don't
in others.
