Thanks to all of the nice folks out there on the LML who answered so quickly
regarding the Subject line. I replaced the switch today (it was the easiest
first step in trouble shooting) and did a couple of T&G's to check it out.
On the first takeoff, I thought I'd solved the problem as the gear came up,
the pump cycled about twice and everything settled down, as in normal.
Though it looked like all was well, my engineer's gut said, "Hold it turkey,
remember that one data point does not make a curve", so I did a bounce and
go and, sure enough, this time the cycling was back. Damn! Another T&G with
the same results told me I still had a problem to sort out.
I will now take everyboky's good advice and check the cylinders and dump
valve for bypass leakage. And of course, if that's not it, I'll have to pull
the pump and get it off to Oildyne.
Any bets on the final answer?
