After about 130 hrs it was starting to detect a lite occasional shimmy. I removed the strutt and disassembled it on the bench, inspected it (all o-rings, etc. looked good), so I cleaned it up and reassembled it with new Bel-Ray 30w fork oil and recharged it with nitrogen. When removing the strut from the motor mount, I noticed that one of the C-clips had come off one of the bearing blocks. Upon checking that out, I noticed that there was a .035" gap between the mounting plates and motor mount. So, I made a .032 shim and reassembled the strutt. So far, after about 20 hrs, not a hint of shimmy. Keep in mind that I'm running a Mazda 20B engine which doesn't have the same overhang outside the motor mount. There was speculation that this may attribute to motor mount cracking. Who knows. Mark S.
