I thought I tried to post this before, but never saw it appear in a
subsequent daily digest. Apologies if it did appear and I missed it.
A few weeks ago we had a long conversation about issues surrounding the
LNC2 gear hydraulic issues. Some folks presented some creative
solutions.
However, I have a suggestion to add to those people because the
"solutions" offered did not address the root cause and are therefore
"masking the symptoms."
There are many people who never experience these problems, leading me
to believe that the right pump configured the right way does not
experience it. Period.
That doesn't mean that the solutions aren't a good backup.
So, here is my suggestion: Return your pump to Parker/Oildyne. When I
was troubleshooting my pump problem, they offered to refurbish the pump
for a very reasonable charge ($100-200, I forget). I did not do that
because by then we had determined that I did not have the recommended
pump.
If you do this, and make it very clear that it is for a Lancair, they
have a couple of guys who know exactly how it is supposed to be
configured, and can probably correct any issue.
Blue skies all.
