Believe it or not a friend & I moved a 320 from Beaumont Tx. to Burlington Wa. on a car dolly. Yes car dolly.. A friend in Boumont had a platform that he made to go on the dolly which he was done with so we used it.. It bolted to the dolly & there were "sockets" for the wheels to go into. Got some carpet & foam for the wings & strapped it down with some wide straps bought at Harbor Frieght. Had to cinch them once or twice at the beginning of the trip but after that it was smooth sailing. Looking back I have wondered if it would have been better if we'd have spent more time loading it & retracted the gear & set it on thick pads to eliminate the working of the gear back & forth.  Dont know for sure if that really would have been better or not. Hitting bumps with the gear down & relying on the padding might not have been so good either. Maybe it worked out for the best anyway the gear seems to be just fine. I know a regular car or flatbed trailer would work better. If you want it covered get the truck. We used a 4cyl. 1997 Saturn wagen with 200k + miles to pull ours. No problem!.

Subject: [LML] Transporting a 320/360???

Hello,

I need to transport a 320 that is all ready built via groung transportation. I need to move the plane 2000 miles, and I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas on what to use? I was thinking of renting a Penskee truck, and try to put the plane on a car trailer, but not sure if this would work.
Any help, or tips would be of great help.

Thanks,
Guy
