As I write this the news services are just starting to report on it. They say ATC lost contact with the plane around midnight Fri about 30 mi northwest of Prescott. Sheriff's deputies located the wreakage several hours later near Haystack Peak, between Prescott and Seligman. There were two occupants, neither of which survived. Through friends I learned that the pilot was Scott Resnick, an A&P and commercial pilot based at HIO (Hillsboro, OR). I'm also based at HIO and knew Scott. At this time I don't know who was in the plane with him. The aircraft was N144L, originally built by Ken Lanham and recently sold to a pilot in the Hillsboro area (not Scott). Scott leaves behind a wife and two young boys. Please remember them in your prayers. Tom Gourley
