She has down loaded several books which are in PDF. I down load charts and plates and save them as jpg files so they go into the reader under pictures which separates them from my wife's books. I have not subscribed to readerplates. This way she can read as we fly but when it's time to land she opens the appropriate chart and hands me the reader. I agree, it's very easy to read in daylight and we both have been pleased with the unit. Len Spina N15EG Tucson In a message dated 5/5/2009 6:05:34 A.M. I ended up purchasing the Sony Reader (PRS-505) for $270 and the software for $9.99 per month. John gave me considerable help setting up my system (needed because of a strangely formatted 8 GB SD card I had put in it) and it is now running well. The reader is small, light and daylight viewable. I am going to try to put my checklists on it and as a bonus, I can always use it as a book reader. D.
