Extra wire stripper tool available:
IDEAL Stripmaster - Model 45-1610-1 with 16 to 26
gauge strip die. Made in the U.S.A.
This tool is the best wire stripper I have ever
used. It is a truly a "one squeeze automatic wire stripper".
With one squeeze, it grips the wire at the insulation, cleanly cuts the
insulation, and pulls the cut insulation off the wire. Release the spring
loaded handle and the tool releases its grip on the wire. No cut wire
strands.
The cutting die has separate sized cutting holes for
16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26 gauge aircraft wire (die part number: 88A081X). So,
no tool adjustments are necessary for different size wire. It is
ready to work right out of the box.
The Ideal Stripmaster is the "bench
mark" that all others are measured by. Cheap "knock-offs" have tried to
duplicate it without success. Bob Knuckolls, AeroElectric Connection, wrote an article
about it.
This wire stripper is usually priced in the range of
$137 to $203 in the marketplace with cutting blades at $149.05 . My
extra ones (new in box) are available for $75 including USPS Priority
shipping (more if you are out of the US).
