(and this notation in the A/C Log Book) What it really means is to remove the ELT turn it to"auto" smack it smartly on it's rear end and listen for the alarm on 121.5. The "smack" is supposed to simulate a deceleration as in a "crash". If you want to have a "legal fire wall forward" we have to play their game, plus other notations concerning Mfgrs.Service Bulletins and of course AD's.
