Landed after two hours and found oil on the underbelly, my Ross PSRU
seal which had been leaking a few drops apparently did not fare well over
the winter and was leaking badly. This is the third time I have replaced
the PSRU rear seal and all have leaked.
If anyone has replace the Ross PSRU rear seal and not have it leak, I
would sure like to know the make and partnumber of the seal you used.
Just
a pain in the neck to have to take off the PSRU just when I returned to
flying. But, need to do that before heading for Sun and Fun.
I replaced the rear seal with a National Oil Seal # 472179. This is a
Buna-N rubber seal and lasts me about 300 hours per seal. I have no idea
why the Viton seal leaked on my Ross drive. You really should get the
return point down below the drive though.
Tracy, what kind of trade in can I get for a Ross PSRU??
Hard to say.... I have my Ross drive which was rebuilt with new gears &
bearings for sale (advertised on my website) for about 1/2 what I paid and
not had any takers. Doesn't seem to be a big market for them.
Glad to hear you got your EFI problem ironed out Ed Hope to see you at Sun
'n Fun.
