On my recent purchase of a Legacy with IO-550N we put the Lancair on jacks and prepared to change oil and swing the gear during the pre-purchase inspection. The clearances to the nose gear were very close or possibly it was an interference with the draining apparatus installed and nose gear retracted. Probably not a common setup but worth noting because of the consequences.
