In speaking with Lancair, they are working with the kit to make it their "fastest to build yet". From what I understand, as well as many parts pre-built, many of the dificult and time consuming alignments will be pre-aligned. This will be my first kit, although I have done considerable work on automobiles in the engine/tranmission/drive train rebuiding as well as a fair amount of sheet metal body work. I have absolutely no experience in composite construction. I am getting concerned however on how much time this is really going to take vs what Lancair tells me. I have signed up for the 1 week factory closeout program, so this should help the timefactor. What has caused me my concern, is I visited a person building a non-quick build IV, and he has over 300 hours (1 yr) in just the horiz stab and elevator (and its not yet even done). I don't know if he's just incredibly careful/slow, or I'm getting into far more than I am expecting. Can some of you give me an idea of what I can expect for build time based on your actual time spent versus where you are in the proces? I'm not going for the show bird (as one list member said, I'd rather have a stormscope than a show finish), so some adjustment for a non-show aircraft may be helpful. Also, since I have a lot more knowledge of the RV line (I helped a friend build an RV6A), some comparison to that in terms of quickbuild time vs quickbuild time would be very helpful. thanks! >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair Please send your photos and drawings to marvkaye@olsusa.com. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
