I did = all the trouble shooting that is called for but not before blaming the = starter and buying a new Skytec high torque model for my IO550. As it turned out, when all the analysis was finished, the problem was = not the starter but the starter adaptor. I replaced the adaptor and all = is well. Except, I now have a new Skytec starter that I don't need. New price was $525. I will sell it for $425 plus shipping. In the box = with all the paperwork.
