At my last annual inspection, the AP said that I needed to brace the exhaust. I have no braces and the exhaust has never cracked. I am not going to fix what is not broken. The 2 ends of the exhaust are pretty free to move so I wrapped then with insulating tape and a hose clamp. They are only attached to themselves, not to the engine mount or any other bracket. I used to wrap the exhaust with insulating tape. About 5 years ago I had the exhaust ceramic coated (don't coat the heat muff area). Now, the exhaust is cool to the touch right after engine shut down.
