If you are
looking for something to do September 26 and 27, head to the Chico Airfest! (KCIC) Contact Justin
Phillipson at justinp551@yahoo.com and let him know that you want to attend. Pilots on static display will receive the
following: Discounted fuel courtesy of Northgate Aviation Lunch vouchers for two on Saturday Free raffle ticket to enter a
drawing for $100 fuel give away Prop card and letter certifying your attendance Free admission for pilots and
passengers If you arrive on Friday, join them for "Evening on the Flightline Show." This is a preview of Saturday's show
and they will have multiple vendors on hand for dinner as well as music for dancing. The Holiday Inn is offering
a discounted room rate of $85 per night with full breakfast for display pilots. Contact them at 530-345-2491 and ask for
the Airfest Rate. CHECK NOTAMS FOR KCIC FOR THE AIRSHOW TFR BEFORE YOU ARRIVE!! http://tfr.faa.gov/tfr2/list.jsp Airspace
will be closed Thursday 12-1900, Friday 1500-1900 and Saturday 1300-1800. You can arrive or depart any time other than
these. The gates will open at 0800 Saturday morning and the fuel raffle drawing will be held at
1300. Ideas: Bring chairs to sit on near your aircraft. If you have a canopy, that would be great to
get some shade near your plane. Bring sunscreen! If you arrive late and the static display area is full, you will be
parked in transient, away from the public view. This year they plan to have a jet team, the Canadian Snowbirds, and
the monstrous C-17 Globemaster III. We have attended this show two times and have really enjoyed it. Having
dinner with the group on Friday night is well worth getting there for and the airshow just at twilight has
been fantastic. Be sure to ask Justin about the cost for the dinner!
