Therefore I must be pumping about 7 g per 10 minutes or 42 gph. I vary the pumping slightly from 4 to 7 minutes based on my flight and fuel burn conditions and on the header tank gauge. As far as your question as to how long it took to get fuel into the tank, my answer was that I didn't lose any altitude. It took less than a minute for the engine to run smoothly. Remember though that this is an engine with a carburetor. A fuel injected engine (as was Chris Zavatson's experience) could take longer to develop solid fuel pressure.
