The length of time to fill it is not that important as long as the filling flow rate exceeds the emptying flow rate. Each person should take their own measurements so that they know the flow rate. Note that even one pump fills faster than the rate that the fuel would be used. Of course, my header (9 gal) is automatically maintained to a full status - I have time if the pumps stop working.
