I flew through a thunderstorm once.  It was in 1972 during Air Force
flight
training in a T-38.  There was a war on and weather services were not so
good as today either.
My instructor called me a pussey for not keeping the bird right side up
but
he could not either.  I have no doubt that my 360 lancair would have come
unglued in there and it was not a very big cell.

I would suggest that whatever training program is used would have some
emphasis on unusual attitudes and spin recovery techniques.  I've done
deep
stalls many times in my bird.  ONCE it snap rolled inverted.  Go figgure -
I
could never get it to do that again.
All the other times, it just wanted to spin if held in a really deep
stall.
I can't speak for other Lancairs but I think unusual attitude and spin
prevention / recovery training will help offset all those loss of control
accidents even if the training is in a Super Decathilon.  Do some turns at
slow flight while you're at it.  If you find these practice maneuvers
uncomfortable - maybe you haven't done them enough.
