I just went through this on my LNC2.  Here's what I discovered.

You can determine the maximum travel by first looking in the manual to discover the maximum angular deflection of the rudder.  I forgot the numbers but I think it's about 30 degrees.  Then, you fetch your rudder control horn to which the cables attach, which also has a pivot hole at the center of the T-shaped part.  Measure the distances, do the trigonometry, and you will find that the maximum cable travel is just a hair under 2 inches total, stop-to-stop.
