Greetings,

 

Another reminder about the Northern California Lancair fly in at Jackson Westover, o70, halfway between Sacramento and Reno.  It is this Saturday, May 3, 2008, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM.  We'll provide lunch at noon, for a $5 contribution. 

 

I'm pleased to announce that we'll get to tour a former CDF S2 fire fighting air tanker airplane, like this one:

 

 

The owner has graciously agreed to let us inspect his S2, inside and out.  He won't be there to monitor us and I promised him that everyone inside his airplane will be supervised by a pilot, to make sure nobody raises the landing gear lever, etc.!  The self-guided tours will begin at 1:00 PM.  I may ask a couple of you pilots to help supervise the tours if we have many non-pilots who want to climb into the airplane. 

 

My wife is also hosting a knitter's pattern exchange during the fly in.  If you're a knitter, bring your favorite patterns to exchange.  If you're not a knitter, you've got a couple of days to find one to bring with you!
