Most of the ES guys have turned down the pressure on the door seal quite a bit.  If the door frame is painted, it seals fine without any silicone extrusion.  Counterclockwise reduces the pressure.  I can't remember how much I turned mine, but I reduced the pressure until it just sealed, but didn't cause the door to bulge out.
