Thought I'd pass along something I found- hopefully it affects my kit alone.

I wanted to recess the screws that attach the Fastbuild IV-P main gear box to the fuselage underside so they'd be flush. It turned out some of the holes were noticeably oversized so that the screw was loose in the hole and the metal of the gear box showed as a crescent lip on one side. In some cases the countersinking didn't align with the screw heads. Some holes were worse than others but I ended up reworking most of them.

 I put Partall on the screws, lined the holes with flox, then inserted the screws until there was slight sqeezeout at the heads. When it had set firmly but not fully the screws were twisted to break any bond. After full cure the holes were reamed .250 then countersunk using an AT402-5B countersink chucked in a 1/2" drill with an AT404-1/4 bayonet pilot as a long guide. These are Aircraft Tool Supply numbers.

 When it comes time to permanently install the screws I'm debating whether to use a thin film of Partall on the screws then coat them with epoxy to seal the holes and ensure a really good fit. I'm not sure that waxed fasteners are a good idea though.  -Bill Wade
