I copied his design for the most part except that I am using electrical solenoids to actuate a spool valve and poppet valve to = control the spoilers. The spoilers themselves are pop up doors over the same = bay where the electrical speed breaks normally go. I think they are about = 4" high by 12" wide and fully deployed approach a 90 degree tangent to the = wing surface. When I first designed this system several years ago I had friends in the Washington Lancair builders group - one a test pilot and one a Boeing aerodynamic engineer. Both thought the system made sense and to my recollection neither seemed to have worries about safety of flight = issues with the system. Now I have someone assisting with the final stages of building and he is quite concerned that there could be split deployment, or some sort of asymmetric forces introduced that would compromise safety of flight. = He's also wondering if deployment of these devices could lower the elevator effectiveness and that could compromise safety. I'm attaching a schematic of the system - it shows only one hydraulic actuator but the plumbing is split to supply one on each side. Thanks for your consideration and help.
