In my 235 I went with a 2-gas-strut arrangement (I found a strut through SPD distributors (P/N SPD-GS-7561) which is almost the same dimensions (with just over half the force) as the original.

I've got the original SUSPA strut that came with my kit that you are welcome to (if it is the same one used on your model).
