I'll give that one some thought. Another way around the "gear won't come up" problem is to add an override switch on the panel. All you need is a jumper across the pressure switch to force the pump on. I added these for both up and down when we were using an older generation switch. These had a history of sticking closed. For the pumps that won't bleed down both sides with the conventional dump valve open, a three way valve might be the answer. A low pressure relief valve might be neede in that line so you don't drain parts of the system and reintroduce air beyond the dump valve. You could also submerge the return outlet inside the reservoir.
