I have made one..
Attached is a picture. Mine has since been painted.
I used the upper cowl as mold to make it.
Gary Edwards also made one. His is more like art. It
has a cool airbrush scene painted on it with him
shooting down a glassair...
My experience tells me they are very effective at
cooling and lowering drag...
