Most people don't build their aircraft as light as the
factory demo model. Like mine for example, I put too
many goodies in the plane that added up additional
weight really fast. I used the IO-550 and wouldn't
have even considered a smaller engine. On days with
high density altitude you will appreciate the HP of
the larger engine. It may make the difference between
a go/no go decision. It is my opinion that the engine
is not the place to skimp in building a plane.
