My KLN 89B GPS is showing an error message that states "altitude fail".  Originally the msg was intermittant but now is pretty constant.

My pitot-static system appears to be O.K. and my "altitude hold" autopilot function is also O.K.

Any thoughts?  Anyone else encounter this problem ?
