If the Lancair factory is listening please consider this:
Make the old length stop (the short one) with a threaded end, instead of
just drilling it oversized to slip over the rod threads. Now a dedicated
check nut can be used to check the hydraulic stop.
Doing it this way would make adjusting the stop a simple process of
loosening the check nut and screwing the stop up the rod, to the cylinder
end, when the rod end bolt hole is lined up with the over center link attach
point. This would make a previously hit and miss adjustment procedure
simple and positive.
Comments anyone.
