That may be worth a try, but how do you go about it without destroying someone's airplane? Since there's at least one old strut not being used, maybe someone could build a test fixture that would attach to the bumper of a pickup. It could have a provision for adding weights. Then drive it down the highway at 65mph and test various conditions.

I believe a lightweight wheel pant was fabricated for Bryan Burr after his shimmy incident. I don't know if it's carbon fiber or not. I don't think Bryan installed it since he upgraded to the new nosewheel strut that doesn't have the shimmy problem.
