I think I will go with Columbia style.
1) No Boost during run up.
2) Arm High Boost (Pressure
below 5.5 PSI will engage and activate appropriate annunciator for BOTH Low
Fuel Pressure and HIGH Boost))
3) Monitor fuel flow on climb
out.
4) Disable Armed High Boost on
cruise (or decent from climb)
5) Low Boost for fuel
selection change.
6) Low Boost over 10K MSL or
when TIT > 1450.
Starting Procedure for Columbia 400 (310 HP TSIO 550-C)
STARTING COLD ENGINE
1.
Mixture ⎯ RICH
2.
Propeller ⎯ HIGH
RPM
3.
Vapor Suppression ⎯ OFF
4.
Induction Heated Air ⎯ OFF
5.
Throttle ⎯ CLOSED,
THEN OPEN APPROXIMATELY ONE INCH
6.
Left and Right Battery Switches ⎯ ON
7.
Anti-Collision/Position Lights ⎯ ON
AS REQUIRED
8.
Primer Switch ⎯ PUSH
IN (Approximately 5 seconds)
9.
Throttle ⎯ CLOSED,
THEN OPEN 1/8 INCH to 1/4 INCH
10.
Check Propeller Area ⎯ CLEAR
(Ensure people/equipment are not in the propeller area.)
11.
Ignition Switch ⎯ START
12.
Throttle ⎯ ADJUST
IDLE (900 to 1000 RPM)
13.
Oil Pressure ⎯ CHECK
(Ensure the oil pressure gauge reads between 30 to 60 psi.)
CAUTION
If no oil
pressure is noted within 30 seconds, shut down the engine and investigate
the
cause. Operating the engine without oil pressure may result in engine
malfunction
or stoppage.

It may be
necessary to leave the vapor suppression on during starting
(steps 7 –
10) and turn it off approximately one minute after engine start.

If the
engine is only moderately warm it may it may be necessary to push the
primer switch for a few seconds before
starting.

I have the Andair valve, but I think low boost for take-off
and changing tanks is a good idea. I have flown a Comanche
for years and that is part of the SOP. Thanks
