I get your point about the curvature. On that
basis I guess my next thought would be to replicate the attachments on my
Rockwell 112 TC-A cowling. Although a bit unwieldy, the whole top cowling
(fiberglass) - curves and all - lifted off from 4 latches, again providing great
engine compartment access. Although not a speed match for Lancairs it was
good for up to angels 20 and lots of Rocky Mountain turbulence.

devices that on my airplane were easy to misalign."
John, the latches on the Cheetah and Tiger were, I
believe, improved over the Traveler's; part of Lo Presti's
"clean-up".
