George,
When I was being checked in the plane out
by Orin Ridell he did a “GAMI” check. I believe the # 5 EGT peaked
at 1528 F. That is what I’ve used as the reference EGT for adjusting to
lean of peak. Based on that, this flight was 103 F lean of peak.
Why am I getting the feeling that I may
have been operating using incorrect procedures/data?

Lynn,
Do you know how far lean (or rich) of peak
you wee at 18.9 gph?
Normally at 29.5” x ~2500
RPM and 18.9 gph - - - you would be pretty close to peak TIT.
But your TIT values don’t look like they
are at absolute values that would normally correspond to peak in a 7.5”1
TSIO-550 engine.
Thus - - - just looking at the “over
all picture” of your data - - - there is something
there that doesn’t “fit”.
If I was going to start troubleshooting,
I would first want to see a simple GAMI lean test at those
power settings.
From that, I could probably make a
good educated guess as to where the instrumentation discrepancy is.
Regards, George

So I'm not able to run my engine much
beyond 15gph LOP at high altitude without exceeding 1650 on my right turbo.
I'm trying to figure out if I have a
gauge problem.
What spread do people
see between egt and tit?
What spread between the
left TIT and the right TIT?
Mine is about 100 dF. Since there
are 6 egt gauges I'm inclined to believe that not all 6 are broken the same
way.
....whereas the tit may be suspect.
Also, my right TIT is 50 dF hotter than the
left.
