I wanted to download the current Garmin GNS480 database but I am 2500
miles from my plane. I called Jeppesen and a rep there told me to just
buy a compact flash card at the local computer store. I mentioned this
to a tech at Garmin and he said that Garmin has their data cards
modified so an off-the-shelf CF card would not work. Does anyone know
if the tech is just spouting hype to sell their overpriced chips or are
they actually different?
