There may be a lot of folks out there that just haven't joined us in the computer generation. I know if my wife (and other computerphobes like her) was building a Lancair, an on-line information source would leave her out in the cold. Personally, if I were building another Lancair, I would definitely prefer all the information available on-line. However one wonders how many builders, in need of some guidance from an authoritative source, would miss the boat completely. Are we voting for some unfortunate disasters in the future? Think about your insurance premiums now and where they might go given a few avoidable crashes. Dan Schaefer [You are absolutely correct in this assessment, Dan... while there is a considerable contingent of Lancair builders, fliers, and enthusiasts with an online presence, it seems to me that there is still a sizable group of folks who either don't have computer access or choose not to avail themselves of this medium. My reasons for arriving at this conclusion are as follows... first of all, the Builders' List which I've been hosting presently includes only about 265 projects. That's a far cry from all the Lancair projects currently out there... I would guess less than 1/3. I don't expect that it will ever include every Lancair project that has ever been started or completed, but it's a fair indication of how many folks are willing to participate in one particular online activity. Next we can consider the number of subscribers that the LML has as compared to the number of folks who subscribe to the LNN... today's LML subscriber count is at 391. I don't know what percentage of those subscribers are actually Lancair builders or fliers, but I would imagine that it's only about 60% or so (assuming that the Builders' List and the LML subscriptions sort of track one another.) I understand that the LNN has at least 1.5 times the subscriber base of the LML which suggests to me that there is quite a large number of 'Lancair-ians' who prefer receiving their builder-provided data via a printed document to email or web-based communiques. While I, too, agree that there would be considerable benefit for a large number of buildres with a well-planned and professionally executed Web-based set of documents on the factory website, I think that expecting the entire builder universe to avail itself of critical information solely via this medium will result in a considerable segment of uninformed folks out there who will be spinning in the wind for information. As much as I hate to admit it, I think we are still a few years away from EVERYONE being online. Just my 2 cents. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> LML website: http://www.olsusa.com/Users/Mkaye/maillist.html Builders' Bookstore: http://www.buildersbooks.com/lancair >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
