Ok, one more try,
My IV-P cruises at 275 KTAS (true airspeed)
The EA-500 is limited (per the FAA) to 275 KEAS (equivalent airspeed).
This is a limit, not the typical cruise.
My horribly written, mercilessly untrue, hateful, phobic, attack, hit
job on the poor, helpless, baby polar bear EA-500 was based on arcane,
obscure and irrelevant information provided by an impotent, unrelated
and unreliable agency (the FAA). What was I thinking?? The information
was cleverly hidden in plain site by Hamid's posting of the link. I am
so incredibly stupid that I thought could convince fellow Lancair
pilots that my IV-P is 100 Kts faster than their IV-Ps through hypnotic
typographical juxtaposition.
My incompetence extends to my inability to run LOP and, as a result of
this and other ham
fisted operational inadequacies over the last 948 operational hours, I
have not experienced the joy and satisfaction of cylinder overhaul,
ring replacement or valve grinding, milestones usually enjoyed by
better pilots with proper engines. My bucket of bolts recycled Lycoming
stubbornly insists on maintaining compression in the mid 70's despite
my best efforts. Try as I may, by operating it at 75%-100% all the
time, forcing it to run separate from its fellow IVs over the race
course and whipping it to the flight levels, it refuses to succumb to
my will.
I cant even win a battle of wits with an engine.
Jeez.....
I think I will go contemplate my inadequacies.
Is it April yet?
Regards
Brent Regan
