Time does wonders to the memory.
The facts are not completely wrong (as far as the accident), I apparently
have Paul's accident mixed up with someone else's. It was some time ago,
but I specifically remember the incident where a Mooney was flight tested, or
was being flown to a wing tank repair facility, and had an accident from fuel
starvation due to a very slight leak in the selector valve. At one time
(well before my Lancair project), I studied the NTSB reports. I may have
gleaned this info from there.
If I wasn't so deep at work on my IVPT
Project I would take the time to research this incident to clarify the
facts.
The point remains, this proposed flight
condition has other potential to be dangerous (aside from the points already
brought up). Thanks for your candid observation and
correction.

serious one in the 1960's), you have the facts complete
