Spent way more than two days on that little chore.
The criteria used here was to have at least one thread showing, that is a
thread all the way around the bolt, so it can look like 1 1/2 threads, but
it isn't. Accomplished the task using both the shorter and longer bolts
supplied with the kit. Also used zero to 3 three washers. I hope to update
my web site soon which will then have a few pictures showing the results.
I think a heavy application of the brakes will apply some tension on the
bolts, the legs present quite a long lever, so the force could be
considerable.
Keep on sanding!
