Several years ago I was out at Cal City Airport in the Mojave desert.
There were a large number of gliders based there. One of the stories
that was circulating was about an N number that was on a glider. The
story goes that the number was sold to a major sports equipment
manufacturer for an undisclosed amount of cash. The owner of the glider
was offered a sum of cash by the said manufacturer and agreed to sell
them the number. They apparently wanted it for their corporate jet - a
G-V. The number was November One Kilo Echo.
