my Super ES was 2032 pounds
that 3200 pounds is a more realistic max gross
IO-550-G2B to around 12 gph at 10,000'.

I'm about to order an IO550 Legend..  But I've been looking at a
non-turbo, non-p lancair4 very hard because of the legend's lack of
usefull load and programs to assist the builder.  You see I'm 200lbs
and my mentor, Mike Mahar (Lancair 4p 177ME) is ~240lbs..  I'd like
4hrs of gas which is ~350lbs..  The 200hp test aircraft was 1350lbs.
(I assume going production, loosing the turbo, and carbon will offset
the larger engine) The web page they claim max takeoff is 2000lbs but
Riddell claims it will be 2200lbs and 2000lbs for landing..  So it will
work with the revised gross, but won't otherwise.

Compairing a non-turbo, non-p lancair4, to a Legend with the above load
(440lbs of people and 4hrs gas) what's your guess on these:

1) Which aircraft will be able to land/take off in a shorter field?

2) Utilizing *all* programs (builder's assist, firewall forward, well
known kit that arn't avalible for the smaller Legend) which aircraft
will come together faster?
