Posted for "Carl Cadwell" : Colyn, I fly the XM WxWorx on a Toshiba Pentablet all hardwired (no Bluetooth wireless) in my Lancair IVP (about 500 hours with Wx on board) and WSI in the Epic on the Chelton system (160 hours). =20 =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D= =3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D=3D I have had limited but similar experience with my two systems. I run XM weather on a Motion 800 using FlightPrep software. The software runs fine but I have had to call and re-initiate XM several times. XM requires that you get re-authorized if the system is dormant for some period of time (at least that is how I understood what they told me). They are always very cordial and efficient, and customer service is North America based. =20 I also run WSI on my Chelton. With their current satellites the refresh rate seems slow: on a trip Redmond to Las Cruces NM we were zig-zagging around cells using data that was at least 8 minutes old and at time 22 minutes old. The new constellation is due in the Spring and I expect the refresh rate to be improved. We also lost radar returns when flying north from Palm Springs to Redmond. That might have been due to our being shadowed from the southern satellites. Cloud tops and metars still came in fine. And again, perhaps the new Sirius data source will fix that problem as well.=20 Robert M. Simon ES-P N301ES =20 =20
