I sent my pump to Oildyne specifically for the "back pressure
modification". It was before there was any spool valve
discussions. I don't believe the reversed spool valve issue applies to the
early early pumps (before 320/360 models), unless they (Oildyne) reassembled
your pump incorrectly.
Check your paper work from Oildyne for the new part number as a comparison
to the part number I posted to get an idea of what they may have changed, if
any. Since the exit of Ed Vanhecky at Oildyne, I do not believe there is a
good resource there now for information, knowledge and interest about
the pump as it applies to Lancairs. Ed knew the Lancair application and
was helpful. Our best resource is Chris "pumpman" Zavatson.

Gary,
I too sent my pump back to have the thing checked
and
rebuilt as it was nearly 17 years old and never been
used.
They charged me $120 or so as I recall and the thing
acted much better when it came back. I am assuming due
to the spool
vale being turned around.
Did I need to say "install the
back pressure mod"?
I do not believe I did?
Is that
something they would have done as a matter of
course?
Maybe that is my trouble...
Randy.
