possibility.   Can you
  see variations on your voltmeter?
  
  Try adding more load to the alternator by turning
landing lights on.  Look
  for any voltage change.   If it stops flickering
this would suggest a
  regulator problem.  I guess the panel light
flicker would be hard to see
